SUMMER WORK PARTY AND BBQ

These guys worked really hard down in the parking lot on the fence. Great job, boys!
Bob E. and Bill were still hard at it when I rode down late in the afternoon.
Bob B. and his Treker.
Brent & Peggy, post bridge work.
Adore Sara and Virgil!
Garland, working the backhoe ...
Can you say tangled mess? Sort of like Jaci's coffee pots are becoming!
Barb & Watson, coming back from bridge duty.

Casey, Gordon & Sam ... great job boys!
Richard & Kathy
Yea.
John has given me 3 warnings, next time it's a speeding ticket.

Stephanie on the chainsaw. Way to go girl!
Don's daughter and granddaughter ~ meter reading duty. He taught them well.
Cool tractor. Great operator. Thanks John.
Louise's son and granddaughter, out for a ride.
Thanks Susanne for all your hard work; I heard Earl worked pretty hard, as well.
Our very own little garbage pail girls ... Nancy & Janet. Great cranberry dessert, Janet, and Nancy, you just plain rock.

Del, Lucas and Todd ... up at the water tanks. We almost lost Del in the deep hole they dug. You boys are studs.
Yep!
Carl, you are the best. Thanks for all your hard work!
Saturday began with our annual breakfast meeting in the parking lot. We had quite the list of chores and a great crew on hand to begin the tasks. That's when the fun started!

The barbeque was a success (other than someone not being able to cook hamburgers quickly enough). There were a lot of people who worked up a hearty appetite after a morning of hard work! The afternoon was beautiful and everybody brought fantastic food.

Work resumed after the barbeque and we accomplished a great deal. Thanks to everyone who participated. We have a wonderful and supportive Association.
Thank you, Lowell and Sheila for organizing the event. We appreciate your efforts, contributions and leadership.

THE MAIN GATE IS OPEN!

The main gate is officially open. According to a report this morning, there is still snow at the Y, just above Gill's turnoff ... so use caution.
We would appreciate it if you could remove trailers and equipment from the winter parking lot. They need to be moved as soon as possible per our agreement with the LDS Stakes who own the lot.
Summit County and their chipping crew is scheduled for Friday, June 27th. It would be a great time to start dragging wood to the road or winter parking lot. Please stack wood neatly and out of the roadside pits. Assistance with chipping is always greatly appreciated!

MAIN GATE OPENING

A tentative date has been set for May 16th to open the main gate! Of course, this will hinge on the weather and road conditions. It may be more difficult to access the upper loop and properties as opposed to gaining entrance into lower properties. Please use good judgement and care, as the roads may continue to be muddy and it will cause a great deal of damage when traveling on such conditions. We will keep you posted for an official announcement!

NOTIFICATION: DELAY OF BRIDGE WORK

The Board has decided to postpone the addition of concrete approaches to the bridges. The large amount of snowfall has already delayed access to our cabins/properties. It will also give us time to allow for possible bids and members more time for fall preparations. The project is now set to start in the fall or the following spring. We will certainly keep you posted.

As it stands now (weather permitting) we should be able to drive up the road in approximately two weeks. Again, we will notify you as soon as the gate opens.

Someday we will have snow-free roads and concrete aprons. I'm stoked!

WARNING: WE HAVE A FEW SCREWS LOOSE

Apparently someone has lost a fair amount of screws and nails around the bridge area and up the road. Stephanie W. notified us of this and picked up a few pounds. Lowell gathered a few more today (note his artistic photography). We appreciate members who collect garbage and hazards along the way; it keeps the association tidy and safe. So if you have a few loose screws, contact Lowell and/or Stephanie.

WINTER PARKING LOT GATE

The mag-lock on the winter parking lot gate has been repaired. You may gain access by using the keypad. Lowell sent an e-mail with the two usable codes. If you have any questions regarding this matter or need the codes, please contact Lowell.
It is important not to force the gate open, as it will result in damage and someone will come looking for you. ;)

PATH INTO THE FRONT DOOR OF THE CABIN.
"GILL'S HILL" CAMP UTLEY, UNDER A BLANKET OF SNOW.
DURING A RACE IN THE MEADOW, AN OLD WOMAN ON A POLARIS BEAT TWO YOUNG BOYS ON ARCTIC CATS. TWICE.

DEEP POWDER, INDEED!

THERE IS A GREAT DEAL OF SNOW AT CANYON RIM RANCHES! IN CASE ANY OF YOU ARE WONDERING HOW MUCH SNOW WE HAVE, TAKE A LOOK AT THESE PICS. WE DID A FAIR AMOUNT OF SNOWMOBILING AND AN EQUAL AMOUNT OF DIGGING OUT OF DEEP POWDER. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! IT BODES WELL FOR THE AMOUNT OF WATER WE WILL REAP IN THE SPRING!
