Be not so chipper

Summit County has notified Canyon Rim that they have changed their policy and will no longer allow non-employees to participate in the chipping process. Dang it, I was going to dedicate 8 full hours to the fun!!!!!
That means the chipping party, where we were going to meet at 9:00 am in the parking lot has been cancelled. Summit County is going to arrange to chip the wood we have dragged down to the road sometime in June. They will try to schedule a second date in August or Sept. That means that we still should continue the process of piling dead wood, neatly mind you, butt end down hill throughout the summer. Make all of your friends and relatives happy this weekend. Instead of chipping, send them out to gather deadwood. P. S. its the woods butt end that should be pointed down hill!

Be Chipper

For all of you who have dragged wood to the road, be there to help with the chipping if at all possible...its this Saturday, May 26th. We start in the winter parking lot at 9:00 am and have the chipper till about 3:00 pm. You don't have to stay the entire time, unless you are as tough as the ladies that did most of the work last year. Those gals were Kathleen Garn and her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Utley and Sheila Gill with a weak assist from me and a few more from the weaker sex. Just give us a few hours..its necessary and will be appreciated.

Bridge broken through again

Once again, a large truck has broken through the small bridge making transporting trucks with gravel and heavy equipment a dicey proposition. The earlist we can fix the bridge is at the work party on June 2. Please use good judgement in dealing with contractors and others. You will be responsible for further damage. Down the road, we need to think about replacing the entire bridge with a heavy duty concrete bridge. Get your checkbooks out as we don't have the money to replace the bridge.........not a pleasant thought.
